Estimated Manuscript Processing Timeline
The flowchart illustrates the journal’s six-stage editorial workflow: Submission, Initial Check, Peer Review, Final Check, Editing & Proofreading, and Publication. It clarifies the purpose of each stage before a manuscript advances and is ultimately published. Every manuscript submitted to IJoRCE follows all of these steps.
While we work to process every submission as quickly as possible, the timeline is shaped by three main factors: the quality of the manuscript, the time external Reviewers need to evaluate it, and how promptly Authors return their revisions. Estimated processing times for each stage of the editorial workflow appear in the table below.
Submission Stage | Estimated Processing Time | Estimated Cumulative Time |
---|---|---|
Initial Check by Editor | 1–7 days | 1–7 days |
Peer Review Process | 2–6 weeks | 3–8 weeks |
Final Check by Editor | 1–2 weeks | 4–10 weeks |
Copyediting, Layout Editing, and Proofreading | 1–2 weeks | 6–12 weeks |
Note: Actual processing times may vary depending on manuscript quality, reviewer availability and feedback, and the promptness of authors during the revision process. Cumulative time is calculated from the date of manuscript submission.
Our journal adopts a combination of continuous publication (publish-as-you-go) and issue-based publication (scheduled publication) systems. Through this approach, manuscripts can be published online as "Articles in Press" immediately after completing the peer review and editorial processes, without waiting for a scheduled release date, a specific issue, or a publication quota. The volume and issue numbers will be assigned based on the journal’s publication schedule once the manuscript is ready for final publication.
For example, if the journal publishes issues every April and October, and a manuscript is submitted in March and completes the review process in May, it will be published online as "Article in Press" in May and included in the upcoming October issue. Please note that publication is not immediate, as each manuscript must undergo the full standard review and editorial processes in accordance with established scholarly publishing standards, including manuscripts submitted through the fast track pathway (if any).
A Letter of Acceptance (LoA) will only be issued once the manuscript has been officially accepted following the journal’s established editorial procedures.
