Crossmark and Post-Publication Update Policy

PT Mitra Edukasi dan Publikasi is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record published through its journals.

This policy explains how post-publication changes and updates are handled and how significant updates are communicated through Crossmark, a service provided by Crossref that enables readers to determine the current status of published scholarly content.

By clicking the Crossmark button associated with an article, readers can determine whether the content is current or whether a correction, expression of concern, retraction, removal, or other significant post-publication update has been registered.

Scope

This Crossmark and Post-Publication Update Policy applies to the following journals published by PT Mitra Edukasi dan Publikasi:

This policy supplements, and does not replace, the Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement, Research Misconduct Policy, Correction and Retraction Policy, Withdrawal Policy, Publication Fees Policy, and other editorial policies of the respective journals.

Where more detailed provisions are required, the policies of the journal in which the article was published shall apply.

Editorial and Ethical Oversight

All journals published by PT Mitra Edukasi dan Publikasi are committed to maintaining editorial independence, research integrity, transparent peer review, responsible authorship, and the integrity of the scholarly record.

Editorial decisions concerning acceptance, rejection, correction, expression of concern, retraction, removal, replacement, or other post-publication actions are based on scholarly, ethical, legal, and research-integrity considerations.

Such decisions must not be influenced by commercial interests, payment status, administrative charges, institutional interests, or other irrelevant considerations.

Detailed requirements concerning authors, editors, reviewers, peer review, research misconduct, publication ethics, authorship, conflicts of interest, research ethics, and editorial independence are provided in the policies of each journal.

Comments, Criticism, and Reporting Concerns

Readers are encouraged to submit comments, criticism, requests for clarification, corrections of possible misunderstandings, or concerns regarding the integrity of published content through the journal's Comments and Criticism mechanism or other appropriate editorial communication channels.

Reports concerning possible errors, ethical concerns, research-integrity issues, authorship problems, legal concerns, or potential research or publication misconduct will be assessed by the Editorial Team in accordance with the Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement of the relevant journal.

Reports should provide sufficient information and, where possible, supporting evidence to allow the Editorial Team to assess the concern. The journal may request clarification or documentation from authors, reviewers, institutions, research ethics committees, funders, or other relevant parties.

Where substantial concerns exist but an investigation has not yet reached a definitive conclusion, the journal may issue an Expression of Concern.

Post-Publication Changes

PT Mitra Edukasi dan Publikasi aims to preserve the scholarly record as a permanent, transparent, and reliable record of scholarly communication.

Substantive changes affecting the interpretation, reliability, attribution, ethical status, or scholarly record of an article will not be made silently. The appropriate action will depend on the nature and seriousness of the issue.

Minor Corrections

Minor typographical, grammatical, formatting, or technical corrections that do not affect the scientific meaning, interpretation, conclusions, authorship, attribution, or integrity of the work may be corrected without issuing a separate formal correction notice.

Such minor changes must not be used to make substantive alterations to the scholarly record. Changes that materially affect the scholarly record will be handled through an appropriate formal post-publication notice.

Correction, Erratum, and Corrigendum

A Correction, Erratum, or Corrigendum may be issued when an error is identified after publication that requires clarification or correction but does not invalidate the principal findings or conclusions of the article.

The notice will identify the affected article, describe the nature of the error and correction, and be linked to the original article whenever possible.

Where the correction is editorially significant, a separate correction notice may be published and assigned its own DOI. The relationship between the original article and the correction will be registered with Crossref using the appropriate update metadata.

Expression of Concern

An Expression of Concern may be published when substantial concerns have arisen regarding the integrity, reliability, ethical status, or validity of a published article, but an investigation has not yet reached a definitive conclusion.

An Expression of Concern may remain in place while clarification, institutional investigation, or other assessment is ongoing.

Once sufficient evidence becomes available, the Expression of Concern may be followed by a Correction, Retraction, Removal, Replacement, or other appropriate editorial action.

Article Retraction

An article may be retracted when there is evidence of a serious error, unreliable findings, plagiarism, duplicate or redundant publication, fabrication, falsification, manipulated data, unethical research, serious authorship misconduct, peer-review manipulation, or other serious problems that undermine the integrity or reliability of the published work.

A Retraction Notice will identify the article concerned and explain the reason for the retraction as clearly as circumstances allow.

The original article will normally remain accessible as part of the scholarly record and will be clearly identified as retracted, unless legal, privacy, confidentiality, safety, or other serious considerations require a different action.

The Retraction Notice and the original article will be linked wherever possible, and the relevant update will be registered with Crossref.

Manuscript Withdrawal

Withdrawal primarily applies to manuscripts that have not yet been formally published.

Authors requesting withdrawal must follow the Withdrawal Policy of the relevant journal and provide a clear reason for the request. Requests made after peer review, acceptance, copyediting, layout, proofreading, or production may receive additional editorial consideration.

Once an article has been formally published as part of the scholarly record, concerns regarding the article will normally be addressed through an appropriate Correction, Expression of Concern, Retraction, Article Removal, Article Replacement, or other post-publication action rather than ordinary manuscript withdrawal.

Article Removal

Complete removal of published content will occur only in exceptional circumstances.

Article Removal may be considered when continued availability of the published content creates serious legal, privacy, confidentiality, safety, or similar concerns, including circumstances involving:

defamatory content;
infringement of legal rights;
a court order or other legal requirement;
serious violation of privacy or confidentiality; or
serious health, safety, or legal risk.

Where removal is necessary, bibliographic metadata should normally be preserved where appropriate, and the article page may be replaced with a notice explaining that the content has been removed.

Article Replacement

In exceptional circumstances, an article may be replaced when a corrected version is necessary to protect the accuracy, safety, legality, or integrity of the scholarly record.

A replacement must not obscure the publication history of the work. Where an article is replaced, an appropriate editorial notice will explain the reason for the replacement and will be linked to the original and replacement versions wherever possible.

The relevant relationship will be registered with Crossref using the most appropriate supported update type or version relationship.

Preservation of the Scholarly Record

PT Mitra Edukasi dan Publikasi does not normally remove or silently replace published scholarly content.

When an editorially significant update occurs, the publisher will aim to:

preserve the original bibliographic record;
issue an appropriate editorial notice;
clearly identify the current status of the article;
maintain links between the original work and subsequent notices or versions; and
update the corresponding Crossref metadata where applicable.

Crossmark and Crossref Metadata

For content participating in Crossmark, PT Mitra Edukasi dan Publikasi will deposit the relevant Crossmark metadata with Crossref.

The Crossmark record may include:

the DOI of the published content;
the DOI of this Crossmark and Post-Publication Update Policy; and
where applicable, the DOI and relationship of a significant post-publication update.

When a significant Correction, Erratum, Corrigendum, Expression of Concern, Retraction, Removal, Withdrawal, new version, or other supported update is published, the relevant Crossref metadata will be updated as soon as reasonably practicable.

Crossmark will be applied consistently to current content covered by the publisher's Crossmark participation. Application to content published before the publisher's Crossmark participation date may be implemented retrospectively where appropriate.

Publication Ethics and Editorial Policies

This Crossmark Policy must be interpreted together with the Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement and other applicable policies of the respective journal.

The journals maintain policies covering matters including:

editorial independence;
peer review;
authorship and authorship changes;
research and publication misconduct;
plagiarism and similarity checking;
comments, criticism, complaints, and appeals;
conflicts of interest;
research ethics;
Correction, Erratum, and Corrigendum;
Expression of Concern;
manuscript withdrawal;
Article Retraction;
Article Removal;
Article Replacement; and
other post-publication changes.

Fees and Editorial Independence

Any administrative, editorial, review-related, technical, or production charges associated with author-requested withdrawal, correction, replacement, or other post-publication changes are governed by the Publication Fees Policy of the relevant journal.

Such charges do not influence editorial decisions or limit the responsibility of the journal to correct the scholarly record.

Actions required for ethical, legal, scientific, or scholarly-integrity reasons will be handled in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics and applicable editorial policies.
